Turn ignition key on but don't start engine.

Slowly press accelerator pedal to the floor.

Slowly release accelerator pedal.

Turn off ignition key.

Done!

Don't forget to unhook both batteries and turn on the lights for 20-30 minutes, then turn off lights, reconnect batteries, then do above.

Excellent point... this clears the current APPS calibration in the ECM so the new APPS calibration will be "clean. "

I've tried it with the lights on and off with the key on and off and just disconnecting the negitive cables and letting it set for 30 minutes. Don't waste your time with the lights and key part just disconnect the cables and let it sit for 30 minutes that is long enough to erase the computer and then do the key on and accelerator to the floor and back slowly. DONE I cannot tell you how many times I have done this to clear a hunting problem, that along with isolating the wire rerouting the wire to the PCM tapping the ground between the APPS and the ECM. 100000 miles and 4 years later I purchased a $12. 50 noise filter installed it and FIXED shifts beautiful better than new. If you are having the hunting in and out of lockup I would suggest the noise filter for a permanant fix.

Do a search on the apps and hunting the noise filter I got comes from mid-state california I just can't remember where and it was $12. 50 plus shipping much cheaper than the one from DTT and comes with instructions also. One of the posts by a radio operator and not Gary Gold either I can't remember the guys name but he has a link to the site where you can get the noise filter. If I can find it I will put a link in here for it. It installs in basically the same place as the one from DTT also right by the PCM.

Just for an update according to DTT the pedal method does not completely reset the APPS. The method they suggested was to take the bracket off that houses the APPS (6 10mm bolts) and look on the back side to what the sticker says. Mine said . 0535 V. I was only getting . 04 V from the wire on the PCM (the orange with blue tracer) on the C1. I adjusted and it has helped tremendously.

I tried to view the website and could not

Can you see what wires are supposed to be check for voltage

I have an 06

Dennis

If you have an 06 you shouldn't have the same problems as the trucks through 02. Dodge supposedly fixed the interferance problem from the Altenator.
