How to seal holding tank?

Congratulations Tommie. Sounds like the new (to you) Arctic Fox trailer did good on it's maiden voyage. 1025 mile run is a good test. I'm sure you and your family will enjoy many happy times with it.

All this trailer talk made me curious, so I went out and looked over my Tango. Turns out George was right, I never doubted just hoped, when he told me a few months ago that it sits on a Lippert frame. :(

However, when I crawled underneath, I discovered Dexter axles. :)

I'm a little confused with the tire debate. I have Goodyear Marathon ST 205/75R15 tires that are marked "Made in USA", Not China?

What's the date code on your tires?

Determining the age of a tire.

Goodyear Marathons used to be made in the USA, then Canada, then China.

If they're relatively new, then seeing that on the sidewalk would be great news.

Guys,

I know this started as an axle thread, but the GoodYear Marathon issue IMHO and a former owners opinion (me) is a real hot potatoe. I bought 4 of them last Memorial weekend and a short time later they developed OUTWARD sidewall bulges. Dealer replaced with brand of my choice at N/C. These were ST225 15's and very fresh USA made. I just saw a new pair on a boat trailer GYM ST with the scuff guard and they were made in China. Not sure if a blanket statement can be made about GYM country of origin.

I got rid of my sidewall bulging GYM's which replaced a set of tread bulging GYM's and went with Maxxis, so far, very good, included TPMS and not assuming anything about PSI, always checked before towing. I already put a picture up in thread RV TIRES somewhere.

Thanks George! :) I appreciate all the sound advise about purchasing a better quality used travel trailer vs. spending the same $$$ on a cheap built new one that will start falling apart on the first trip.

These Arctic Fox trailers are built like tanks and I like it a lot. I think it will serve us well. I ordered a new ProPride hitch this afternoon. I know it's overkill, but I don't take my families safety lightly. No such things as overkill when it comes to that as far as I'm concerned. :)

I will post up some updates after the hitch install and I get to pull the trailer again one day soon.

Point taken Gary. I'll certainly inspect them regularly and replace them at the first sign of trouble or by next spring, they'll be 2 1/2 years old by then and should probably be replaced anyway.

You will love the Propride Hitch it's not overkill just smart trailering. I am a Hensley Arrow user myself and it makes a bumper pull trailer oh so nice to pull. A cordless drill is a nice tool for the weight distributing adjustment jacks.

Already got the cordless drill. Bought one to use for lowering and raising my stabilizer jacks. :)

I debated on which one to go with. Either the HA or the PP. I liked the idea of having an adjustable hitch on the TV and not having to swap them out with Hensley to get the height right. Plus the improvements that have have been made from the original HA design. I can't wait to get it installed and head out camping again.

My pleasure Tommie. You made a good choice.
