Best deal on Eagle Alloy wheels?

The ugly hubcap on my factory alloy 4x4 wheel has me looking at other options, so far the only wheel I have found with the factory 6” backspace are http://www.bozeforged.com/wheels.htm the ones I was looking at are these:

Size 20x8. 5 with 6” backspace. Manufacture claims they are rated to 3000 lbs.

The only tire I can find for a 4x4 are Nitto Terra Grappler size 305/55R20 load range E that are rated for 3195 lbs. and look like these:

#ad
This tire fits my 33” tall requirements and I like the wider look.

Then there are http://www.ricksontruck.com/wheels-dodge-SRW.html that are commercial 19. 5 size

but the widest tire I can find for those is the Michelin 265/70R19. 5 that puts me at 34. 5” tall but a good 2” more narrow than the Nitto’s, they look like these:

#ad

With the 19. 5 set up the rims are less money but the commercial tires are more than the Nitto’s, overall (tires and wheels) the 19. 5’s are just a little less.

I have not confirmed the Rickson backspace just yet but the widest rim is 7. 5” and uses an older nicer looking factory lug nut cover. The rickson set up bumps load capacity up another 2000 lbs each wheel!!! But I think the 20’s look better, I just don’t want to make my 4x4 look like a- well I mean a, er what I meant to say was a, oh you guys know what I mean.

I pull 6000 and don't load much over 500 in the bed.

Any thoughts???

The question I would ask is how much rougher does the short side walls of the 20" tires make the ride.

Will the 20" tires ride roughter than the commerical grade 19. 5's?

Myself I like the look of the taller side walls of the 19. 5's.

I would go with the 19. 5 "Truck" wheels and tires. Unless you are looking for the Ricer truck look and feel, then go for the 20 inch with the short side walls. If you go with the short side wall I would not take it off road and make sure you tighten up all of the nuts and bolts on your truck every 6 months because it will shake it apart if you drive on anything but a smooth road. Good luck and post a picture when you get it done.

i have 20x9's under my 1500 ram right now and the ride quality is great [275/60/20 tires ±33" tall] i want to get a set of 20x9 for the 2500 when i get it and stick toyo 325/50/20's under it. the tires are rated for a little over 3000 lbs a piece and those tires work out to about 33" diameter. if you had a 19. 5" rim with 245/70/19. 5's those are the same diameter tire, and you'd have about . 75-1" more sidewall [total] than you would with the lower profile sporty tires. it all depends on what you want to do with your truck.

I opted for the Ricksons in a 285x19. 5 and are 35. 4" tall, ordered them on June 16 and still havnt seen them    I hope the product is better than their service

Ouch! Don't want a riceified Cummins :--) Maybe a better idea would be those rims in an 18x8 that can be made with 6" B/S then go with the 33" Nitto in an 18 size?? I am still looking for a center cap for my stock wheels to use with chrome exposed lugs that would probably do the trick.

I don't think you could tell, the 19. 5's are load range G where as the 20's are E rated. Tire pressure would make a big difference for sure.

Good point, we all want our tires to last for sure and yet I am not so sure I would want to be "stuck" with the same tire for possibly 70,000 or even more miles.

What rims will you use for a 2500?

there is my problem ;) i have had poor luck in finding 20x9 wheels. that is the minimum needed for the 325/50/20's and they are a pain to find. there is plenty of 20x8 and 20x8. 5, but can't find the 20x9. i may have to go up to 20x10 [i do like them fatal 8's :D], but then they will be wide past the fenders, then it'll need flares to cover the wheels... when i get the truck [>3 months hopefully] i'll start looking real close...

not sure about the backspacing though.....

pick up a truckin' magazine or sport truck and check through the ad's. now with the H2 hummer there are a lot of 8 lug wheels coming to market. it shares the same 8x6. 5" bolt pattern but different lugs [14mm gm, and 9/16" daimler iirc]

quickly going through my latest truckin' mag, here are some wheel manufactures that have 8 lug wheels...

www.akuza.com

www.coloradocustoms.com

www.lexani.com

www.kaotikstreetalloys.com

www.boydcoddington.com

www.symbolicwheels.com

www.introcustoms.com

www.bozeforged.com

www.bazowheels.com

below link is something i just found surfing. has all kinds of 8 lug wheels

Something to keep in mind is the cost over time. The 19. 5's with commercial tires will last a LOT longer than the 20's.

You can also have the 19. 5's recapped (for use on the rear only). I've had great luck with recaps if you use a quality shop.

20" sport tires will last pretty long too if you live up in the snow area's. you need winter rubber under your rig for 4-5 months of the year... so if i can get 3-4 seasons of use from the summer tires, i'll be a happy camper... .

Ouch! I hate that word:( If them tires would fit they would be too dang tall thats for sure. I see your 03 must have the Chrome clad wheel, I think it looks better than the optional cast alloy wheel my truck has.

Sorry about THAT word!

I know they make 8. 25-20s, but I'm not sure if they make 20" truck tires any smaller.

Yea, I've got the chrome clad ones. Once I wear out the psuedo-off road tires that came with it, I'll get me some 315's.
