Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Are all 98 12v's the #53 block

No they are not. Mine for sure is not one. I know there are some but I think most are probably the early 24 valves.

The 53 block is nothing to worry about. I have sene cracked blocks that were of all numbers. None failed more spectacularly than any others or any more randomly. Get the best-shape truck you can find and don't worry about a block number.
