Just got an ARE fiberglass lid installed. Looks great! Sprung for the optional fuzzy liner on the inside. GIves it a finished look. Will post pics later today.

I have one on mine. I too have the fuzzy liner as they thru that in when I ordered. it is a very nice cap!

cost?????

What did this set you back. How long did it take to get it? Am looking at getting one once bed is sprayed.

It took about 2 to 2. 5 weeks for the local guy to get it in and about 45 minutes for them to install.

I paid around $950 installed with the fuzzy liner.

I followed Amsoilman's earlier recommendation and got an A. R. E. Tonneau too, about 3 weeks ago! IMHO, ARE is the best as they don't touch the bed paint on the side, yet they have a great sealing and hinge system. To top it off, the shape/style of the cover exactly matches the center hump found in the hood sheet-metal. I also hear that A. R. E is great about any warranty issues. My dealer is getting me a replacement strut, since one seems weaker than the other.

FYI, I ordered my CTD w/ the factory under-rail liner. To level out the Bed Siderails w/ the liner in front and on the tailgate, I added the MOPAR Black Rubber Siderail covers and the MOPAR Steak Hole Tiedowns to fill the 4 holes. Worked like a champ, leveled everything out except two 1" long pieces at the front corners. Camper foam tape filled those in. DON'T LET ANY TONNEAU DEALER TALK YOU INTO CUTTING OFF THE FRONT OF YOUR BED LINER, LIKE THEY TRY TO DO HERE IN No. CA!!!

Ordered mine in Timberline Pearl Green w/ Fuzzy Liner, the Latch Hardware Cover, and the interior light. I also bought 2 extra clamps to balance the clamping force out more evenly (total of 6) I was able to get the all for $941. 00 w/ the Calif. Gubener (soon to be recalled) Gray Davis tax included!

Don't get me started! Too late... ... .

My ancestors settled here in the 1860's and these socialistic idiot's are ruining this once great State!

There ... ... ... I feel a little bit better now!

ARE Tonneau

Oo. I have an ARE Tonneau on our 2000 quad cab 2WD.

Much better looking and better Q. C than the Snug Top (imho)

I have a Snug Top camper shell on my Toyota. Back in 1998 when I bought it Snug Top was Top Shelf. I believe ARE has surpassed them.

Again... ... IMHO.

lids & hauling crap

I too occasionly haul some crap. Solution... . take it off.

For the most part we are towing our boat on weekends or vacations. Hauling camping and Skiing gear. Air chairs/ski's

ice chests etc. A tonneau or cap is required to keep the honest

people out. Oo.

2003 ARE Tonneau

I can't really see the top of the gray Tonneau that was posted, but the ARE that's on my 2000 "appears" to be better looking.

Mine continues the two grooves from the hood all the way back.

It's seems to be more rounded. A very custom look. :p

I haul clean crap that needs to be locked up (read luggage when I tow). Comes from having a family that takes its crap with us.

For real hauling, my other truck has a three way tipping dump bed. Dumps the crap right where you want it over any terrain.

Hey, that is the beauty of trucks. Every one of them can be tweaked to fit the need and style of its owner. That and they come with these great diesel engines!:D
