the 5 to 6 times the extra cost?

My gasser came with these so called 100,000 mile plugs, I don't feel good going that far... ... ... ..... I'm going to change at 70...

What to put back in???????? I just hate to spend $80 to $90 for 8 plugs.

Iridium is a form of platinum , common on new cars & trucks for 10-15 yrs ,
You should be able to find a Bosh platinum for less than $2. 50 , they do help for longer running , and you can put in a good brand of regular plug .

Be cautious of some of the platinum plugs they have been known more than any to break in the cylinders resulting in shattered valves. You did not mention what the vehicle is but if you are able to change them with relitive ease i would not worry about installing some high milage plug when you can change them out each 30,000 or so. Its a great way to see how your engine is performing and catch any possible problems.

just my . 02

Save yourself the time, those plugs will easily do 100K and will show very little wear at that point. IMO double tip platinum's easily do 90K so you could save some money using that plug if you wanted.
