Are lift pumps rebuildable?

Just had a thought, with lift pumps costing ~$130 or so, and many of us with ones that don't work, are they rebuildable? And if so, what does it cost, who can do it, and does rebuilding make them better than factory? It's amazing what goes through your head when you should be sleeping instead of surfing. What do you think guys?

I don't see why the Carter pumps wouldn't be, I know the Mallorys are rebuildable, I have one.

I was told that the electrical part is not rebuildable, and that just happens to be the part that fails, 9 times out of 10...

i have the rebuild kit for the carter , its the vanes and the rotor , the electric motor is sealed and can't be rebuilt , but where theres a will ...



if the search is working i posted the part number for the kit , i paid i think 18 and change for it .

It figures, the part the gives out most often isn't rebuildable. I think it's the electric motor on mine that went bad. More cannon fodder.
