are the new 6.7's supposed to smoke?

Thing runs awesome, mpg is about 16 (just turned 2K on the ticker) but i notice when i am at a dead stop and hit the throttle, it will burp out some smoke, blackish grey. It is very sporatically, usually does NOT do it after the truck has been running for over an hour but have seen it do it then also. When i notice it does smoke, if i just stab the throttle and go through all the gears, it lets a grey haze all the way through.



Is this supposed to happen or not?

I took my 6. 7 megacab in last week to have the updated flashes done. Service writer said the only one I did not have was for excessive smoke. Mine wasn't smoking. So he said if ain't broke don't fix it.

I don't believe it should smoke, unless it was +10* and the engine was cold. I'd take it to the dealer and have them make some adjustments.

It sounds like the 6. 7 has one fancy computer on it... . I wonder if an EFI live type software would be possible?
