Well lets see, the dogs sneak up on the bed most nights, thet "let us know" when its time to eat, they come and go through the back door as they please without letting us know whats up... ... I am confident that my answer is correct when I say they own us!
WAIT A MINUTE! This is not a PETA commie question is it?
They sleep in my bed, insist of being fed at the same time each day. Once relaxed for the evening, they remind me its now time to play.
The lab swims in my hot tub and owns the hide-a-bed in the 5th wheel. My bully goes to work with me every day and has his own space in my office AND is featured on the monthly time cards!!
Well, let's see. . Its like the movie, Driving Miss Daisy, Miss Gypsy, Miss Autumn, Mr. Sam, Mr. Marty. Yep I'm a professional alright - pet Chauffeur!!!
My Dogs own me- do what they want when they want, and to prove it- my Austrailian retriever mix jumped a 6' block wall to get to a small dog on the other side this weekend . Dumbass can't see the purpose of fences yet!! The higher I make him the bigger the challenge!
Well, let's see. One Sheltie (Brittany) owns the back seat of the Ram and the 5th wheel RV - she allows us to go camping with her. The other Sheltie (Bandit) thinks the Ram belongs to him - he has to help me drive by sitting on the center console. The tomcat (Biddle) doesn't care whether school keeps or not - he definitely thinks he owns the house, and we exist merely as support staff.
Spot also has his place in the Ram. In the trailer, in the house and he also tells me when it is time to go outside. Still I think we support each other. He keeps monsters away from the house, I guess he is doing his job. I haven't seen any in the 4 years we have had him.
We have two - Diogi (pronounced D - O - G) is mostly Black Lab, and Idgett (think of Yosemite Sam on his dragon yelling, "Stop, you Idgett. "). What a greeting we get when we get home in the afternoon. They are so happy to see us, you'd swear they could swallow a ham-bone sideways. Course, that's probably because they know they'll get something better to eat than that dry food in the bowl over in the corner. They both like to go for a ride (that's why I'll be taking out the back seat and building a padded platform for them).
A few years ago my wife and I were trying to decide if we wanted to ruin our lives (get a new kid) or our carpet (get a dog).
We bought new carpet. We decided it would be cheaper in the long run. Besides, the dogs don't talk back and then get rebellious, too.
i like to check out what my people are interested in while they're at work, and think im sleeping in the garage. i know that my buddy rob loves his truck, and found this forum today while searching through his "favorite" files. i have to say im a little offended by this topic. after all its me whos the guardian. with out me, i dont know how they ever survived. oops... the pencil keeps dropping out of my mouth, so i'll have to bid you all a fond farewell. if i could only train my choc lab to properly clean the slobber off the keyboard... . its a hard life, but someone has to do it. best regards, ben. [newfoundland, and proud of it] oh by the way , god bless america
We are staff to two Maine Coon cats. Sonny weighs in at 26 lbs and not a bit of it gray matter. Buffy is a perfect 9. 8 lbs. She is only somewhat brighter. Somehow they've managed to commandeer the house. Doesn't say much for me I guess.
