I did not just knew there was no way anyone was backing up that fast doing those maneuvers and that there was some slight of hand happening but thought the commercial was great. I wonder how many people will see that commercial and think their backing problems will be solved if they just had a VW with trailer backing assist..
Well now I took a look at the how we did it, great idea
Now that depends on whether or not it was one of their TDI models. I am going through that crud now with my 2015 TDI Golf. Though I have to admit while not a done deal yet they are offering a pretty fair value for buybacks. At least for me they have quoted me more than I paid for it, had almost 2 years and 40k miles in addition to the $1000 worth of visa cards they already gave me in their goodwill program. Though I am not sure I will be totally healed from my pain and suffering that I have had to put up with or my substantial feelings of guilt for harming the air quality while getting 45-48 mpg. Still no official or announced fix yet so I am seriously considering selling back and putting that money down on a new truck and retiring my 2001 with 390k on it which is starting show its age.
Yes regardless of the outcome they got where they wanted go by thinking outside the box way outside the box. until as you said they got caught. I guess I can believe that someone came up with the idea but the hard part to believe is that management went along with it and thought it was a good idea to pursue.
Well to Un-HiJack this thread. I can't pick out for sure that the VW they used is a TDI.
Anyway the advertising company that came up with the VW Backing up Ad / Commercial will not have to worry about a shortage of customers.
That was really an awesome commercial to watch, I thought they must have run the VW and Trailer film in reverse and photo-shopped the other footage in later.
The last few second of the ad were a surprise to me. Pretty Cool.
