I didn't know what to expect in this thread, but I am really enjoying it!
I've only briefly driven and ridden in a couple of 2 gens, almost bought a '01 5 speed QC Sport before my 04 came on the scene, and always thought a 12V QC is the all time ultimate CTD.
Reading the comment about the "Quality" truck, I started to think about what Chrysler itself went through between '94 and '02, and I invite anyone to do a bit of research on that if you don't know. I firmly believe Chrysler was doing extremely very well in the mid-late '90's with image, quality, and the lineup. I think it's why the Daimler "merger" happened.
I think someday I'd like to get me a 12 valver if I find the right one.
Indeed, the new 94 2nd gen saved Chrysler's bacon. I owned a 94 2500HD gasser, even though it was a gasser, for almost a year I got thumbs up as drivers were seeing the new Ram for the first time or just couldn't help themselves. I loved my 94, but just before the 3rd gens were released, I wanted to buy a new 2nd gen just before they were gone. Then I went to a Chrysler traveling show with a 3rd gen 3500 Chassis with drive train exposed on display. At that time I decided to wait for the new 3rd gens, and I was rewarded for my patience when I bought my 04.5 2500 with the NV5600. I had to wait for the HO to be legal in Comifornia before my purchase.

I have some promo and press goodies for the "T300" as it was called, as well as the Viper, PT Cruiser, and the Prowler.
At the time, Mopar had lots of now NS1 parts still available, and I was doing lots of work on older Mopars, and I had Angiuli Dodge parts on speed dial. One day I went by the counter and my guy told me the new truck was in the showroom, and it was a 3500 V10 with the red/white "waterfall" paint. I was thoroughly blown away!
The last time I recalled such a departure in style was when I was working at Lincoln/Mercury in 1986, and the first Sable was delivered on a special flatbed. It was SO different!

When your old trucks new owner loves it too

Before getting our new '17, we decided we would sell the '00 and just have one truck. Now my wife is thinking it would be fun to keep it and do some of the things she has always wanted to do ... add stacks, etc., and just keep it as a toy. We have made lots of mods and it has 4.10 gears, so it's really a happy running truck with the bigger tires.

As tempting - and fun - as keeping it sounds, the logical part of my brain keeps tapping me on the shoulder reminding me that it makes sense to turn it loose.

Keep her! Shes a gem! :D

Yes I miss my 95 3500 had a almost a million miles on her but motor still ran strong I didnt jump outta the 2nd gen cause I bought a 02 2500 with the manual 5 speed I kept my ol 95 for a few years thinking I would some day rebuild it until a friend needed a motor and at that point I knew she would live again as a drag truck shes still being built but her day of Glory is cummin
