Two States Consider Taxing Gas 'Guzzlers'

Legislation has been introduced in the Arizona House of Representatives (H. B. 2575) to tax vehicles up to $600 each registration year, based upon their fuel economy (the lower the gas mileage, the higher the tax). If these efforts are successful, the effects on your ability to purchase the vehicle of your choice, not to mention vehicle safety, will be dramatic. Tow vehicles will be especially hard hit. Contact your Arizona state legislators to oppose taxing vehicles based upon fuel efficiency.
