5er to GN adapter

hey guys, we are planning a trip to north arkansas, eureka springs. we are driving from south La. we are looking at hwy65 from south ark. to the northern part of arkansas. could anyone tell me how hwy65, is it a good road for pulling a 9,000# camper with eng stock. thank for any info. rcrosby

Ran 65 from La. to Pine Bluff then hit I530 to Little Rock about a month ago. It is a little rough but the traffic is not too bad. It's very flat to Pine Bluff, easy pull. I've never run 65 above Little Rock so I can't tell you anything about that part.

I just came from West Arkansas using US 40, US 30, US 530 and US 65 to Lake Village with no problems. The traffic was heavy through Little Rock but after that it was not to bad. There is a small amount of construction after 530 but it did not slow us down. I was pulling a 31 foot Montana Mountaineer Travel Trailer and except for the wind we motored right along

You will enjoy higway 65, it is a good road. In Octoberof last year we were coming back I-30 and were 14 miles out of Texarkana,Ark and blew a tire and did $600 dollars of damage to the traierl. Waited 3 hours for Good Sam's Road Service. Other than the tire we had a great trip. What ever you do make sure you have good tires on your trailer and that they have the proper amount of air in them. The tire that blew was less than a year old. Have five new trailer tires. Have a great trip

I drove US 65 from Branson to Harrison last November. There is some road construction north of Harrison. It is a good road that is getting better. The road that turns off for Eureka is a little different. It is curvy and hilly, but no problem for your rig.

Take your time and enjoy the scenery.

I frequently pull a 31' RV over those roads.

Thanks for coming to Arkansas. Help keep Arkansas green - bring money!

I live about 45 minutes from Eureka Springs. I would take 40 all the way to 540 and head north from there and then back east on 62. 540 is a new highway and 4 lane all the way. 65 has a lot of construction and is 2 lane in areas. 62 heading west is mostly 2 lane and a lot of construction as well. 62 west of Berryville is winding 2 lane with little or no shoulder. Lots of little towns and stop and go traffic. If you want to see some pretty scenery and just want to take your time, take 65. If you want to avoid the traffic and hve better roads take 540.

On another note, I would recommend the Catfish Cabin if you like fish and are hungry.
