Can someone give me correct procedure for torque.

I've read conflicting posts as to using oil verses moly lube on studs.

From what I read, I'm gonna bottom tap and vacuum block, bottom stud out, then back off 1/2 turn,(w/o lube). It's the torque and sequence I'm un sure of. Do I go once at 90, then 110 line torque, then 120 line torque & loosen each, one at a time before next torque? (w/moly)

Head is off for blown hg, and studs came today. I gotta get this thing going asap. Thanks, Bill

the actual procedure to do it to aircraft standards is to run through 5 cycles before final torque is applied, which is overkill. I'd do it in thirds to the final spec (like 35, 65, 100)or some guys do it in halves. I round up to 100Ft lbs using Molly Lube.

The ARP 24v (247-4202) kits for our trucks are 12mm ARP Pro series (220,000 PSI, heat treated) bolts and should be torqued to the following:

122ft lbs using 30wt oil

96ft lbs using ARP (molly) lube

Torque it first in the sequence in the manual (dont Line torque for the first go). Run it to operating temp or even drive it a few miles keeping the boost down and then re-torque them either in sequence or line torque (doesnt really matter on this go round) and yes you'll have to pull the rockers and reset the valves again but its worth it. :D
