Competition arp studs and high boost numbers

Been reading several forums and haven't really found right answers. I have a 2000 with stock head gasket. Wanting to go up in boost. Whats best option here? arp studs with stock gasket good for how much boost? arp studs with mls gasket good to?(does this gasket work on a 2000 without compression changing)? Rather not o ring if I can get away with it!



I have Killer B (64 comp. 12 cm ex. housing wastegated at 40)still gets 1500+on egts. I have the sledpuller 66 coming this week. will i make more hp with more air then more boost?Or can I make same hp with more air and not the higher boost? When is enough boost enough?

Studs produce more clamping load then bolts and will take your level of non containment up proportionally to the increase in the fastener capabilities. I personally like the ARP 2000 stud; it has a broached hex in the head for easy installation and is a big jump in clamp load. I torque them to 110 which are 95% of the studs yield, and haven’t lost a head gasket yet, with an o-ring head, running the boost that I run. The mls gasket is a great addition if you’re not going to run o-rings, the only draw back is an increase in compression as they are about . 015 thinner. In your case I would recommend a thick 2000 gasket . 075 vs. . 063 to drop CR some also be sure to use the moly lube provided
