Vac and oil hoses, switched to SS braided

Cool mornings and 1690 code again

Arp studs seem to be holding fine. Now time for injecters.

I just started tearing things apart to re-lube and torque the head studs for the 5th time. If they aren't ready by now, they never will be. Have dyno'd twice with no problems. Am going to change to a ported 26cm housing on the bottom turbo and the 275 injecters are coming out. The 275's did 504hp with the plate 7/8ths forward. Smoke wasn't much, and what does come out is a gray color instead of black. Injecters are something PDR sent me. Don't know what they are. Looked at em under the microscope and they have 8 holes instead of 7. Egt went to 1200 on last dyno run. Maybe this 26 housing will help that a little. Hope I can get all this done before dark.

My ARP's are holding great too, i have hit 65psi at least 50x,and 70 psi a few times, zero issues, finally i think i got the head gasket problems behind me,the Don M head,ARP studds are working for me. I've only retorqued twice.

Wellllllllllll

How did the new injectors turn out. Did you get it done yet?

I think you have re torqued the head enough. 5 times? As long as its not moving more than 1/8" on the last re torque you should be ok. Have you been marking them before you re torque? If I am wrong someone please set me straight.

Blair.

Actually, I am just trying to fine tune this project. I think I am actually being fairly conservative. If I was truck crazy I would start color coordinating the engine, and buying alot of chrome stuff. You know the kind of stuff I'm talking about, red pipes under the hood that match the paint job, waxing the oil pan and frame. Seriously twisted stuff. Me, I'm just trying to make my poor old tired truck run well so that it can keep it's dignity in it's twilight years. My truck will be done when it can suck so much oxygen out of the air that the guy driving the Ford behind me passes out. Is that too much to ask?

I will sound stupid for asking, but I'm curious; with APR stud are you guy's using regular head gaskets, O-rings, Fire rings. I'm Getting Twinned soon with a HT3B ( Piers) -I'm Unsure of the boost I will see, What is the difference between these? What would I need to do to keep from have gasket problems?

Thank You,

Bret

I'm using a . 010 over head gasket with 0-rings in the head and ARP studs torqued at 105 ft lbs. But I rarely go over 40 lbs of boost. I have been told that this setup should hold 60psi.

Ron: I am using the marine gasket and o-ringed with the haisley studs, and see around 75psi on a regular basis sled pulling I think 60 psi for your set up is conservative.

Yep, that's me. Conservative. And perhaps a wee bit gun shy after taking the head off so many times that I wore a hole through my radiator with my forearms. I also have an area on my chest where the hair was rubbed off and isn't growing back, it says, " Caution Fan" as plain as day.
