ATS Stage V troubles finally solved!

Bluechip Redline vs. Comp

I was told that ARP was out of the short ones. I found some at Summit (more money), but they were the only place that had them in stock that I found. They no longer have them in stock either.

The set has both long and short ones. If I remember the set has 6 long ones, and the rest are short.

Did you blow a head gasket, or is this a perventative measure before the next bomb?

Paul

No paul, didn't blow head gasket. Don't want to so would be call preventive. Also would like to know the procedure you used. Could PM with the details? Did you use anti-seize? When u first installed did you only torque to 96? also when retorquing, did you let it cool all of the way down or did you do it slightly warm and lastly have you only retorqued once to the 120lbs?

I used the ARP anti-sieze. I did only torque it to 96 the first time, and 120 after that. I let it cool overnight. When doing the re-torque I removed the nuts (one at a time), and re-applied the ARP anti-sieze. I marked the nuts with a marker, and checked to see if the nuts ended up tighter. They did after the first one, but I check it a third time, and it was the same as the first re-torque. I torqued the head by Cummins sequence the first time, and then line torqued it after that.
