AS68rc temps in traffic

I have a 17 tradesman DRW 4x4 with 61000 miles and the trans temp climbs pretty rapidly in stop &go or slow traffic is this normal, ambient temp around 55 degrees and it's done it since new but seems to be getting worse, normal driving and freeway driving and towing seem normal and oil & filter changed @ 59000 miles, any help would be appreciated

What temp do they climb to?

Stop and go driving has more torque converter unlocked time than most other driving, so it’s normal to see it climb.

TH should help lock the converter more, as well as using ERS to run a lower gear and running higher rpms with the tq converter unlocked.

i.e. 1st at 2400 rpms will run cooler than 1400 rpms in 2nd if the tq converter is unlocked in both gears.

Good advice. But 185/190f seems to be somewhat of a normal operating temperature. Even cold like 20-25 f and no front cover running empty I get to 185f going around town

I run around the same in the summer up here... if ur levels are good u r fine
