Wanting to put a set of assist steps on truck. Looking for a set of black with an offroad look so they dont hang real low. Truck is also black, any recommendations or pics of your Rams with assist steps
Google Ram factory black steps and you'll see some choices. If my 2017 had not come with them, I would have opted for HD running boards. Larger step, actually protects the side of the truck and great ground clearance. Look close at my previous truck. Cheers, Ron
On my 01 I used Luverne but they did not hold up well they are still on the truck but have rusted out on the bottom of the bar. New truck I used I think it was 5" Raptor bars only two years but so far so good.
X2; on the Amp Research steps, but they are expensive!
I installed a set of Westin Side bar steps that run the full length of the cab. They were installed in Nov. 2007, and they are still on the truck. I also installed two Amp Bed steps for the rear at the bumper and one at the driver side front edge of the bed. These fold up and are out of the way when not needed. See attached photo. I believe that the Chrome side bar steps can be ordered as black instead of chrome but the black paint tends to rust over time. Just mu opinion on the black tubing.
Love my stainless steel wheel to wheel Mopar steps on my 18 3500 crew cab long bed. I believe they are available in black as well. They have clearance for front mud flaps and plenty of foot space. They don't hang real low but they don't hug the body either.
These are factory and I love them. EXTREMELY Sturdy. Im 250 Lbs and can bounce on the very far end of them without feeling like they will break or bend.
