anyone know where to buy atf +4 at a good price the dealer wants $29. 76 a gallon the dealer said i should have called last week it just went up in price!

Yes I do. I just purchase mine on yesterday from my local Bumper to Bumper auto parts store in Burlington WI. That was the only place that I had any luck with. They didn't have enough sunday so I came back on tues. I almost went for the Amsoil because they had it in stock, but they also carry a Valvoline high mileage (75,000 or more)that also meets the requirements of the ELUSIVE ATF+4. I don't know that much about the valvoline but for three gallons it's about halve the cost of amsoil, and so far I've notice my shifts have been better.

Redline makes a product they say is far superior. They would. I guess the Mopar ATF is just a group III base stock oil.

Redline C+ ATF Satisfies the performance requirements of Chrysler Types 7176 and ATF+4 (Type 9602), while providing 30% greater operating viscosity, 1/3 the evaporation of petroleum ATFs, and improved oxidation and sludge protection. Red Line C+ ATF provides the exact frictional characteristics required in the Type 7176 specification, providing proper shift feel and proper lockup torque converter operation. The use of an improper fluid could cause torque converter shudder or harsh shifting. Red Line C+ ATF also provides the best low-temperature shiftability in automatic transmissions allowing proper shifting at extremely low temperatures and will flow down to temperatures as low as -60°C. The improved wear protection makes C+ ATF the perfect automatic transmission or transaxle fluid for Chrysler vehicles.

I asked about this on the SE site and was told that Penzoil has a product called MultiLube ATF that meets the +4 specs.

You can buy a case on eBay for around $18 a gallon, there is usually a case or two for sale there. On a side note, I would stick with the real Mopar ATF+4 though, everything I have read says it is the only one that is right for the Dodge automatic.

I was told by the local Aamco dealer that the +4 is an additive that they can add to their other transmission oil to make it ATF+4 transmission fluid. I don't know if this is true, as I went with Amsoil.

If the dealer is on the bulk oil program (they all are ;) ) then their cost is about $7. 90 a gallon. we have several local guys who bring there own containers in and fill up on atf 4 out of the bulk tanks, even retail is only $15. 00 a gallon with no discount. If this is the dealer that you bought the truck from they should be willing to sell it to you out of the bulk tanks if you have your own jugs, the part number for the bulk atf 4 by the gallon is 5086000AA
