I just recently hit the 30k mark with my truck. I have the Aisin transmission. The manual calls for fluid change at 30k. I bought the recommended fluid from Mopar at $14 a quart. On the back of the container it says it meets Toyota's T IV rating. Valvoline's Max Life ATF also says the same thing. At NAPA it is $5 a quart. Has anyone used this or any other brand in place of Mopars?

Mobil 3309 trans fluid is the exact replacement. The sticker on my transmission says so. It can be ordered on Amazon for around $6 a quart delivered.

This!!!!
I've ran the Mobil 3309 since about 98k miles with ZERO issues. If I recall correctly....I had a case (12 quarts) of 3309 shipped to my door for around $66 through Amazon.

Does anyone happen to know what exact replacement trans fluid would be for a 68RFE? I plan to finally install my Mag-Hytec soon, would a case of trans fluid replace the fluid I dispose of? Thanks for any info.

Could the Mobile 3309 become an issue while under warranty? Would it be better to switch once out of warranty even though it is exactly the same fluid as the stuff sold at the dealer?

the yellow tag on my Aisin says use Mobil 3309. That comes from the transmission manufacturer. I don't see any warranty problems stemming from following the manufacturers instructions.

Sleeper, I researched the ATF 4 specs and wally world oil is the same as vavoline etc. Only difference is how much you pay. All meets specs of chrysler.

Thank you Sir. I appreciate the information. I don't feel I should pay more for a product that is just labeled differently. Thanks again

So people don't get confused where there are two different transmissions involved in this thread.

AISIN ---- Mopar or Mobil 3309. Period. Aisin transmissions are also used by Mitsubishi Fuso Truck, Aisin and Fuso are adamant that Mobil 3309 be used.

68RFE --- ATF+4 spec. Whatever brand blows up your skirt as long as it is rated ATF+4..

And is there a preferred ATF4+ for the G56? I was thinking about sticking with Amsoil, but curious what is recommended by experienced owners
