ATF fluid, off subject but need info quick.

I need to change the atf fluid and filter in my wife's Cirrus before we leave this evening. It is a 2000 model about to turn 40,000 miles and we have not changed these. It calls for ATF+4, where do I get it? +3 will not work will it? Sorry to take up space on this board but I think it needs attention before we drive another 800 miles.

ATF +4

when i checked about 2 months ago, the stealer was the only place to buy +4. it is supposedly "synthetic". i've been told it just has an additive. amsoil makes a synthetic which folks are running in the ctd autos.

I looked at every parts store today and none of them have it! The stealer wants 8. 04 a quart. A rip off, I don't know what synthetic costs but that may be the way to go until the auto parts stores catch up with our vehicle needs.
