I would like to publicly thank Atlantic Cummins of Greensboro, NC for helping me when I was stranded on the side of I-85. I was traveling home from Richmond, VA when the quick connect on the trans. line to water cooler blew apart.
I spent 3 hrs on the side of the road trying to reassemble this connection before giving up. I tried to get ahold of the local Dodge dealer but by 5:30p. m. they had stopped answering their phones. My wife found Atlantic's # on the internet.
When I spoke to the night service advisor he was a little reluctant to see the truck as this was a dodge not cummins issue. After explaining that I was 4 1/2hrs. from home he recommended a tow service and was hauled to their shop. They immediately pulled the line off the truck and began trying to locate a replacement clip. By 9:30 everything was closed and they gave me a ride to motel (which was not the closest motel to their shop but one in a better area).
The next morning they picked me up, brought me back to their shop, and took me to lunch. They had to order updated lines to fix the problem so I waited at the shop until a friend picked me up.
They had my truck finished at the time they said they would and I had no problems on the way home.
This was an expensive repair but they warned me about their flat labor rates before I had it towed there.
It really sucks to be stranded away from home but Tim and David at the shop made it as bearable as they could.
