Just like any electronic part,I am having some minor problems with this unit . It does not power up correctly and when it does, watch out it keeps lockup all the way to engine kill, No speedo, and some times no 4th gear, also I did not like the way you have to tap into the wires next to the PCM,I wish they would have made plug in adapter's. I will be making phone calls on Monday to ATS. I hope they will have a quick fix.

Transmission , valve body, TC, was a easy install excepts the torque bolts on the front drive-shaft,All kinds of room to remove almost all housing bolts, etc.

Call 'em! When I installed my TripleLok Commander myself, I had one wire hooked up slightly incorrectly--I had it hooked to the right wire, but in the wrong place. I couldn't figure it out, but it didn't work quite right, and when I stopped by ATS, Mike took care of it pronto, and even though it was my mistake, they didn't charge me!

rrausch,

What do you mean by the right wire in the wrong place? I just installed one in my truck and it does not work. The Tow Haul light comes on sometimes, but most times it does not. The Commander never sends a signal to lock or hold the converter.

PM Me your phone #, I think your dip switch's are position wrong.

Don T, I'm not sure right now which wire it was. I want to say it was the one which picks up the signal from the TPS. I will look it back up and let you know. But I remember I had hooked into it up in the dash area and for some reason it got a better feed down near the trans area. Odd, but that is what happened.

Hi, I to have the ATS Commander like you. When installed correctly and when functioning properly it is a great addition to any truck (Auto). Don't despair, I too had a problem initially, the Commander it's self was not working properly. It would ingage and not release at it's own will, you seem to know the horror of coming to a stop and having the thing keep trying to go! I call ATS and spoke to a Matt I believe, He ask me a few questions on it's behavior and then shipped me a new one by next day mail. They had made a few programing changes to the Commanders since my purchase, but I got the new version and it has worked great since. There are a few things that you need to figure out with one, Mainly, at what speed do you want it to disengage. Around town and running a few errands, I have it set at about 22 mph, but that only works with the OD off, other wise it is to low of a speed and since the truck will idle faster then that in 4th with the TC lock, it will not dis-engage. I just run in town with the OD off, that way it allows the E-brake to engage and everything works fine. I recently towed with the "New" system, and found it to work great, just have to get use to what it wants. Good luck

I have the Commander working now. I tried to use the VSS signal along the frame rail near the transmission. This is actually the signal going to the ABS module. I thought it would work because the signal is passed from the ABS module to the ECM. Apparently the ABS module changes the signal because it does not work. I am now using the signal between the ABS module and the ECM. I tapped into it at C130 which is one of the connectors on the firewall between the brake master cylinder and the engine.

Call Clint at ATS he his very helpful I had similar problem on my last truck with ATS trans and cammander and I tapped wrong wire when I called they explained and all good
