ATS trans 2nd gear

I have an ATS stage 5 trans in my truck. I may have a problem with it. When I leave the gear selector in drive I never feel second gear. The 1-2 shift is firm, the 3-4 shift is firm, and the converter lock up is firm. I do not feel second gear. When I shift it manually, I have all gears. Any ideas? The guys that installed the transmission think it may be skipping second because there is not much of a load on it. I have not had the time to pull my fifth wheel to find out if it makes a difference. Do any of you with an ATS trans have the same thing happening?

The installer is Diesel Innovations in Houston. Doesn't anyone have anything to say about this? I talked to ATS yesterday and the guy I talked to took my info and said someone would call back shortly, that did not happen. I guess I will have to call them back Monday.
