ATS Trans and Triple lock

I put the ATS stage IV and the Triple lock TC with the Commander in my truck 1 year ago. I pull a 38 ft fiver toybox that is typically loaded to about 15K. Great set-up! The folks at ATS were enjoyable to work with and provided a quality product. I can pull 6 and 7 pecent grades with ease and the Commander makes down hills with my EB a breeze. Can't say enough good things about the set-up.

ATS trans with triple loc

I have been running the ATS stage III for the last two years. I pull my 28 ft fifth wheel to Alabama and back to Indiana at least once each year. I'm upgradeing to the Stage IV next week. I do not consider good quality as overpriced when you get the quality that you are paying for. ATS makes a good product. ----Leroy D

yeah i got a stage 5 and i love it man it's a big difference. If i was to just be able to keep one mod that's been done to the truck that would be the one

Can't say enough good things about the ATS triple lock, valve body and commander. I upgraded two years ago in my 99 and also added the Edge Comp box. I can get all the power to the ground and pull the steep hills with no problem. (36' triple slide 5th wheel GVWR 15000 lbs) I have the 2500 2wd with 3. 54 rear end. The commander applys ground to your e brake and turns it on when the trans is locked up and off when it unlocks. Great system and very professional and curtious service. Highly recommend it. Betty :) :) :)

I've had mine for two years now and love it. Towed #17,000 pounds of backhoe and trailer over the Sierra Mountains with no problem. I have a cabover and a 5th wheel I haul and it has performed great! I took mine to Colorado to have the install done and they gave me a tour of the shop while I was there.

Be sure to check out bd-power transmissions they are the only ones to offer a 100,000 mile warranty and they also offer lifetime on torque convertors

ATS offers a 3 year 100,000 mile warrenty--Leroy D

Mine went out two weeks after one year and less than 50k miles, my warranty wasn't worth a dung pile. I haul all day everyday. They told me well you haul alot. Far as I'm concerned I paid a bunch and got alittle. Spent well over 10k in that shop, don't know if it's right yet. Three different shops that looked at or heard about my trashed Cummins with less than 10k on it said the transmission took it out. . . ATS didn't agree so it cost me a rebuild. Hard for me to say I'm a happy customer with the treatment I got. If I have any more trouble with it I'll probably throw it away and go elsewhere.

Cheers,

Steve J

I've had the stage 4 in for a month, fine so far. Truck is a 99 and mostly stock. I leave it locked down as low as It'll go and downshift when needed. When Mommy drives the truck I just punch the commander until locking is as high as can be, remind her about overdrive and away she goes. The only reason ATS was picked was thats what my service guy used, been treated upfront by this shop since the 93 was new. When I need trans. service they do it, close to work and I trust 'em. You may very well find a shop that is DTT certified close to you if you do, jump on it, I would have. Shop 'em both, feature and cost you'll have different issues of concerns as we all have. Mike

I have the stage 5 and just love it, I did have a few problems and ATS fixed it up within 2 days, what great customer service... .

If you are going to add horsepower or even the commander I would go billet on the input shaft (stage V) I ignored the warnings and now I am paying the price. The warranty will not cover the shafts breaking. Just good advise to spend it all up front. ATS is a great transmission you will not be dissapointed.
