Got a local shop here in Roanoke that started testing today to see what's what. I spotted the truck out on a test run this afternoon. They are going back through everything that it could be. I'll keep the progress or regress posted.

Well I hear that your problem was fianally resolved. Glad to hear you will be back on the road shortly.

Mmmm. . it hasn't been resloved yet but it's a working progress at least. I feel a little better about it thanks to Clint's help over the phone communicating with the shop while I was there. Even if his fix doesn't really fix it, he has made a great effort.

The problem has been diagnosed by a local Tech as being torque converter shutter... with a little twist. They hooked up all kinds of gadgets to the truck, test drove it w/ and w/ out me in the truck and about 4 hours later determined the converter is unlocking and locking at a high rate of speed which is causing the "shutter". The way it was described to me is it doesn't know what to do... lock or unlock because of two possible defective parts. Forgive the terminology but it's something like the APPS and the CPPS or CPS... I've read on here before how they go out all the time etc... so w/ Clints advise, he said instead of replacing these parts at a higher dollar rate, he would hook me up w/ a Transcommand pack. Clint says this takes over the operation of the two possible defective parts and will allow me to control the lockup so in theory, will stop the shutter. We'll see how it does... The best test the tech did was to get the truck up to about 45 mph w/ lockup in OD then stand on the brakes just a little... . This caused it to kick down to 3rd, then lockup and while we did that it shuttered really bad... a lot worse than it did in OD lockup.
