New 5" Exhaust

Propane or Nitrous?

I have a 98. 5 3500 with an automatic transmission. The truck has 135,000 miles and the transmission is having torque converter shutter not real bad but is slowly getting worse. I'm looking at buying an ATS transmission. Anyone have good or bad experiences with this transmission?

I have the same truck you do and I had an ATS TC and valve body with the controller put in it this past summer and I love it. It had 95k on it but it hadn't started slipping yet so I wanted to get it in before it started to. I tow a 11500# 5th/wh rv. It sure is nice to be able to hold back going down hill. Does a good job w/exhaust brake too. TC is very positive. You'll like it. :)

I to have an ATS (tany w/valve body,TC,commander) and have nothing but positive thing to say about it. I had mine installed by TST, and the 100 mile drive home after the installation was the best ride I'd ever taken in that truck. It's one of those "you have to experience it, to appreciate it" type things. I could type you a four page report, and still not do what a 5 mile ride would. The ATS is firm, but smooth with it's shifts. Nothing real harsh, thou if you really get on it, the first to second shift at full throttle will get your attention. I enjoy the TC being locked up sooner, and on costing, you can really feel it hold back now. I would recommend you budget in a pac-brake (or what ever you want), it works very well with this transmission and the commander control unit. It's a huge step to make, but well worth it. You can make a ton of HP, but it is useless with the stock trany, it just doesn't get to the ground. I would buy this thing again, with out hesitation.

ATS is Awesome! I had 107,000 miles on my bombed 1995 when I got the ATS. I've got 134,000 on it now, and I LOVE it! I'd do it again in a heartbeat. That TripleLok TC won't slip, I don't care how much HP or Torque you are making. It was designed initially for guys towing heavy loads up and over the Rockies around Denver, and it is bullet-proof. In addition, ATS strengthens, heat-treats, re-engineers or cyrogenically treats many many parts in the Stage IV trans, to make sure it can hold the power of the Mighty Cummins. And it does! Call them and talk to them. 800-949-6002

Thanks goes out to those who replyed to my question on the ATS transmission. It is a big pill to swallow so I need to know it the advantage is there for the cost. Thanks again to all.
