I have a 3 gauge pod (the one that USGEAR sells) that mounts on the top of the dash. For those that are using this type of gauge pod, how are you attaching this to the top of your dash? I don't like the idea of putting screws in a dash that is in perfect shape and the tape/velcro strips that came with the base don't seem to hold it secure enough. What's the best answer to this problem?

mine is held on with the velcro that came with it and 2 other pieces from the parts store. it's actually pretty hard to remove it.

You could try a clear silicone caulk. Not sure how it would work with the limited contact area of the pod base. But it's not permanent and could be removed if it doesn't work.
