draft schedule for May Madness 2009

May Madness 09

Hi Nancy,

I'm so glad to hear you & Bob are doing well & will be looking after all of us at this next ralley. Looking forward to seeing you guys again:)

Last year, we thought we had an agreement with the folks who bought the portable dyno from Maddog. Recently we found out that they wanted guaranteed participation and a lot of money up front, neither of which can we do without sponsorship. No sponsors have stepped forward, so we are scheduling a "display and discuss" for all the trucks on Thursday, along with the traditional Ram Rodeo that day. Everyone is welcome to display the trucks and discuss their modifications, etc. with each other. Since the "big power" numbers have been achieved over the past 10 years or so, it seems that fewer people have that great interest in dyno'ing these days and it is time to try something else and see what preferences emerge among the attendees.

Hey Joe, since we're not doing the dyno I was thinking of maybe a competition for the quickest fan belt R+R, I know it's late notice but it could be fun. What do you think?

Fan Belt R&R

Now that souds like fun!

Well I will not win for sure. It took me a few hours and a bloddy hands to install a Fluidampr in my rig. I was realy looking forward to hooking up to the rollers and find out if my mods made a difference. However, I'm down for whatever activities Joe have in mind. :-laf

I will continue talking to Silver State Motorsports. As of now, their dyno has not been installed at the new shop location. Meanwhile, BP has suggested a "Display and Discuss" event Thursday along with the Ram Rodeo. Fan belt rodeo is OK too :) or at least someone might give instruction sessions because it is somewhat easier than it looks, or than many make it to be.

Joe,
I am coming out Thursday and will be there in the early afternoon. Is whatever you get going as far as dyno or whatever... on as well as the Ram rodeo, also be going to be running Friday? I will be doing the Show and Shine for sure. . What other Seminars will happen after Thursday afternoon?

Does it also seem right to have the swap meet along with the all hands Display and Discuss? Not sure I like Display and Discuss title, I need to come up with something better than that. What I really envisioned is for EVERYONE to bring their trucks out, open the tailgate have a tasty beverage of their choice and talk trucks. It would also be nice to bring out the BBQ and easyup to make a day of it.

Will the tasty beverages include margaritas? :)

We used to hold the swap meet Tuesday. Any day is OK with me, but traffic on tuesday is sometimes light vs. Thursday. And, on the schecule we will be encouraging everyone to participate.

See my new thread, there will be a Dyno Day (Dynojet) in Pahrump Thursday and Friday! Also limited edition dash plaques for the first xxx trucks registered.

Well With the Dyno Gone, I am going to have to pull out of going there. I was going to get there on thursday afternoon anyway so the little amount of stuff to do is not worth it for me this year.

Joe, I PM'd you on this.

Hope next years planning is better

There will be drags Friday night. The main holdup on having dyno and pulls is $$$$$$$$$. Find us a sponsor. Three shops backed out on the dyno this year. Better planning for next year will involve lots more $$$ and guess who I am putting in charge of that effort. :)

Blair has brought in some good ideas and is working with us to make those events work.

Now that I have given Blair a heart attack, no he will not have to write a check for the dyno and sled next year. Wish someone would, though. . . and while at it, build a new track for us in Pahrump.
