Brake controller light

Tahoe 5th wheels

Well ,after 5 years of good service the oven in our camper won't light. The pilot stays lit and when you turn the thermostat up the pilot gets "bigger". I ordered and installed a new safety valve which has the "cap tube assy" permanently installed. Now it will light every now and then! Any ideas on this thing? Thanks.

Its a Atwood "Wedgewood" model with 3 burners and a larger oven.

I have a Wedgewood also so I dug out my little manual. If the safety valve isn't the culprit then I would hazard that it is the thermostat. If you turn the knob all the way to broil will the burner light? You might also e-mail them for some tech support. www.atwoodmobile.com

Good luck

Is cap tube assembly and thermocouple the same thing? If so, make sure it is ajusted so pilot surronds the thermocouple when the pilot gets larger. It should turn red from heat. Also good place for tips and parts: www.marksrv.com

Thanks for responding guys- Paul you hit it on the head. I took the pilot assy off and blew it our with my compressor and away she went. Must have been plugged up a bit--the flame was just barely hitting the probe and afterward it would completly surround it, and she would fire right up! Much thanks!
