Big deal! I saw Hot Rod Magazine do that nearly 20 years ago with a top fueler and an F16. The dragster won that one too.

It was Don "Big Daddy" Garlits. He had always been a Navy fan and finally was able to talk someone in the higher ranks to a heads-up race.
He took his "swamp rat", I forget which one - it was the late 80's, out to Miramar to race an F-18.
The F-18 was launched from a catapult used for training.
It took Garlits a few attempts until he was finally able to get traction on the 'virgin' concrete.
Once he was able to get the rubber to hook up he proved the dragster was 'quicker' than the Hornet.
However, the Hornet was airborn after some 2. 5 seconds or so and all bets were off at that point...
But, the zero-330 ft times were impressive.
