August 2003 manufactured Ram3500 a 2004 model?

Does that sound right? August seems early for new model year? Waiting on paperwork from out of state on this truck I bought.

Yes, that's probably correct. My 2004 is a September 2003 build. All 04's built after 1/1/04 are the so-called 04.5's - They have the 325HP/600Tq engine instead of the 305/555 HO engine in the pre 1/1/04 build trucks.

Yes, ordering is shut off in June, July is the build out and switch over month, August new MY's start delivering.

Dodge built me an 01 in Dec.of 99 and I received it in Feb. of 2000, with title saying 2001

Very good, yes this has a 4 at that 10th digit.

Yes, mine was built in aug of 02 and is an 03. Normal.
