aussie conversion needs help

after suffering several transmission blow ups and limited knowledge of upgrades for the drivetrain i decided to upgrade motor gearbox and transfer case.

vehicle is 1500 club cab 99-2000 with 5. 9 magnum v8. Donor vehicle 2003 3500 24valve cummins power complete with wiring harness .

instalation of drivetrain was achieved fairly easily ,i thought that once i had the motor in place i would organise an auto electrician but than i could not get anybody to take on the job,so i started splicing the 2 harness,s together.

has any body started such a project ,and could some one assist with technical info tracing such temperature and oil pressure bypassing security codes for ignition starting if necessary .

i would be happy to reimburse for outlays time etc for info.

Tell ya what I am going to tow this thread over to the swap thread to gain a little bit better exposure.



Do you have BOTH main harnesses? And we are talkin about how you have already swapped a 24V into a 1500 frame. (Hopefully gusseted for strength)

If you are trying to make the stock gauges work it can be a challenge. If you are adding after market gauges ( such as Edge ) it will be much simpler. Shadrach

thanks tim and shadrack since i posted the threads i came across a local autoelec who is quite switched on and has completed the job . only1 small problem i didnt have the immobilzer module or key so the truck think it is stolen andwont run. idont have the doner vin would this be a problem in organizing a replacment module and key and is there a direct number at chrysler for acontact to order such items . i enjoy the mag and the websites forums mac mcdiarmid

Andres thanks for the info yes mine fires runs for 2sec. then dies ,being so close to taken it up the road thennot able to if i dont get it going shortly ill need councilling. iwould like to hear about your ebay find when you get it and iwill get onto google and iwould like to hear more about your trucks all the best mac

andres i checked the sites good info how the signal gets to do its job. i have the cluster from doner the only thing missing is the key and module the column did not come to aussie thanks mac
