I know somewhere in the past this was discussed but I can't locate anything on it. I recently added the mirror to my truck, is the wire and connector supposed to be hiding up in the headliner somewhere or do i need to procure that as well?!

IIRC my wire just loops out of the mirror and up into the headliner. I don't remember seeing a connector.

Hmmmm... ... interesting now when I did a search I found what I was looking for! Surer then crap the connector was right there next to the overhead console, just plug-n-play (for once, thanks D/C) now to go out and see if it works as good as the one in my 97 did while at the same time look for some ricers to play with! :-laf :-laf FYI, It appears that D/C used the same mirror in most of their vehicles for the last several years, so if your rig does not have this feature it might be worthwhile to look into!! Seems absolutely worthless on my truck - I have the tinted rear slider, and have NEVER noticed the mirror to auto-dim...

But then, it doesn't NEED to with that tinted rear slider... :D :D :D

I hate that rear autodim feature. On my 2nd gen. . it had a latching lighted buttton on the bottom of the mirror that you could defeat the thing with... and it would stay off until you pressed in and latched the button. The new one can be defeated, but everytime you cycle the ignition switch, it comes back on. I have a tinted slider, so glare from headlights behind is not a problem. When the dim feature is on, you can't see if it's Five-O on your bumper at night. I drive 20,000mi. a year just to get to work each week and with my hours, I drive most of that in the dark. I'm gonna disconnect the damn connector so I don't have to keep remembering to turn it off each time I get in. and drive.
