Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) auto meter EGT gauge stuck...

I have noticed the past two months that my pyro in the morning is stuck at 450*. It will not move until it is quite warm like 1000*, when I get into it. I can then tap the glass and it will go to current temp and be ok. Whats up with that? Is it defective? I have had it 2 yrs and it did not do this last winter. Still in the 20's at night Thanks for your sugestions/help.

Sounds like a bad guage. I'd try to send it back or get it replaced.
