Talked with Geno's today about my Auto Meter 4344 EGT gauge fogging up, they said Auto Meter had a bad batch and I must have got one. If you have one that is fogging Auto Meter is making a fix and it should be out around the 1st of September. I am on list to get one.

Just thought I'd pass on the information. The people at Geno's are really great, and I still believe Auto Meter makes a great product.

Fogging

I have that gauge, and it fogs up but I bought it from DIS. I wonder if I will have to go thru DIS or straight to Autometer ? Does any one know ?

Yes, I would contact DIS as they are the Auto Meter distributor--they shoudl be able to help you out on warrantee issues. If not call Auto Meter Directly, just make sure you have your original invoice for proof of purchase and date.

I got one of those too from ADT.

I thought it might just be the Iowa humidity.

Please let me know too who we need to talk to.

Thanks,

Eric

Is it only the #4344 gauges that fog? I have had my #4365 over a year and never had a problem with it, and its humid here in NE. Not to mention I think it "looks" better in regards to the font and numbers. I saw a 4344 and wonder WTH is this thing? :D (Sorry Dan. . its the gauge I looked at at your house) My truck is outside 24/7 as well so its not "sheltered" from the elements.

Thats funny. I just recently purchased my Autometer U. L. 4344 Pyro and it was fogging up too. I was in San Diego at the time and now that I am back in AZ, of course with no humidity, it hasn't fogged up since. I will also contact Autometer.

Eric, first step would be to contact your dealer, ADT to see if they are aware of the problem--Geno's was, so ADT should be. If no satisfaction there, then contact Auto Meter Directly at:

(815) 895-8141.

Yes, Kat--seems from the info I got from Geno's that this 4344 is a new product and it is the only one they are having problems with. According to Geno's they have had a rash of problems on the East Coast, so Auto Meter thought maybe it was from the high humidity. But Auto Meter is aware of the problem and they supossidly have it fixed, or will very shortly.

Its a pain for me as now I have to destruct my A-piller configuration to replace gauge:confused:

I have contacted ADT and will go from there. I am sure they will do everything in their power to handle the situation if they can. I will let you know what I find out.

Thanks for your help,

Eric

I guess I need to contact Diesel Dynamics, I thought mine fogged due to the humidity. :( However, I'm very pleased with how the gauge functions and looks.

Get the Fog out

With a bulb in back of gauge and mounted as normal slight rise to front and open to normal air PSi heat will cause fog at front . fix small hole in top of body 2/32 will do placed as not to be covered by mount . If mine fogs thats what it will get . Ron in Louisville KY:rolleyes:   :D P. S waited over five weeks to get gauge

Just wondering... ...

Does anyone with the #4365 UltraLite have a fogging problem??? I keep hearing bout it, but I haven't seen it for myself yet. And begining to think the #4365 is a better "design" of a gauge?

Auto Meter EGT

I tried to order an Auto Meter EGT gauge (#2654 - Z- Series) last week and they told me the same story about the fogging problem. Said they sould get new guages in around the 1st of Sept. This seems to be a problem with more then just one model guage.

Didn't want to wait or take a chance on a bad guage ... so ordered the Westach setup. ;)

Happened today....

Had mine in for 2 weeks now. Thought everything was fine. Was a little misty last night and this morning it was fogged up.

Got mine from ADT. I just spoke with Doug he is aware of the problem and is waiting for the new ones from Auotmeter. I imagine if Autometer says September 1st it may be the end of September before we see them. At least the gauge still works:)

BTW turning on the lights seemed to clear it up pretty fast. Probably heat from the bulb.
