Auto shift for 02 1500 needs help...

I need to find something to help a auto in an 02 1500 shift better. It pulls a 14x7 job trailer, and it "hunts" terribly. The engine has plenty of power, but the transmission needs a little help. He tows with OD locked out. He plans on getting a diesel, but not for a while.

What can he get for a transmission BOMB that will "plug in" or something that doesnt require dropping the pan or anything internal? Any thoughts or ideas?
