Auto to Man trans conversion in First Gen.

Can anyone go onto detail about installing the 4500 in place of an 518 in a First gen ('92)? Especially in what's involved in the firewall / pedal area? Thanks in advance!

To change you truck over to a manual should not be too bad. You will need the Clutch master cyc and brake/clutch petal for a stick. Also you will need a new steering colum and a Correct wiring connector for a standard transmission. I would also check into to see if you will neeed a new computer for you truck as well. The master cyc hole in the firewall is most likely marked on your truck and you will need to get a frame piece to mount the clutch master cyc to under the dash(which bolts on). Hope this helps.

Thanks, Kyle. This has always something I wanted to do but I try to weigh the effort/cost vs. buying another truck. The 5 speeders just run so much better.
