So what all is involved and how difficult is it? Would it be worth the cost of just hump up and pay for a built auto?

Well lots of parts:-laf I have all the parts from an 06 that had 9k miles on it (a rollover)flywheel, clutch, trans, transfercase, drivelines, ajustable pedals, crossmember, ect I want 4k Randy

Do a search on transmission swaps, lots of threads.

If you can find them, the parts are available affordably. I found everything I needed from a roll-over for $1500. Went with a new SBC clutch and a transmission shop swapped them out for $450. I stripped the interior and put the pedals in before I took it to them. Sold the toasted auto and parts for $500. Here's where I first posted about my conversion:

All said and done if I had it to do over again and I had the funds I would go with a built auto, probably from Georand since I have several friends with his transmission.

I have also done this same conversion and I can say unless you are ready to make the commitment don't do it; just get your auto built. I have had my done for about 18 months and 12 of those where with no cruise because I finally bought the ecm and pcm plus the ABS module for my year of truck and now everything works fine. But the conversion is not to hard to do it is just time consuming with putting the pedals is, cutting the hole for the shifter, removing all of the linkage plus the shifter on the column, and you will need to have both your drivelines custom made just for the lenght difference also the electrical is fun. I am probably missing something but that will give you a good idea of whats involved. There are some days that I wish I would have never done the conversion and may go back to the auto one day when I get another wild hair. Andrew
