auto to manual eng differances?

Is there any differances in the auto and manual cummins I am looking at an 89 auto and have an nv4500 not sure of year thanks George

There is a wealth of info on this site. I don't know about the first gen, but in later years, auto engines were derated (or manual engines were uprated, depending on how you wanna look at it ) This would be a good place to start for ya. Cheers

I'm fairly certain they didn't start derating them until 94. I believe the engines are the same for 89-93 manuals and autos.
