Auto Trans Band Adjustment

Does anyone know the procedure, and specs for proper band

adjustment on a 01. 5 Automatic Transmission?

The book says to do this when you service the transmission.

FSM says loosen lock nut, tighten bolt to 72 in. lb. , back off 2 turns, hold bolt, tighten lock nut. HTH

Tighten to 72in lbs then back off 2-1/2 - 2-3/4 turns for both front & Rear bands. Or you can use the 1/4" hex key method. I used the 72in lb method & when Bill K took apart my trans himself, he knew that I had used that method. He likes the hex key method (Or did last October anyway) The Rear bands I am told stay in adjustment, because they are only in use during reverse & when using L1. I have a copy of the instructions from Bill K, I can scan & send you a . jpeg file if you will PM me.
