auto trans clutch material

Just wondering if any body knows what types of clutch fibers that DTT and ATS use in there transmissions used for light towing or daily use . Alto red or blue ,Borg Warner , Kolene steal plates are just some of the choices . They may mix and match based off of need , just wanting to know if anybody is in the know? Who is the closest approved builder to Alabama?

I would call them and ask on the clutch material.



I went the xxx route (see sig) and call and they will gladly tell you where the closest installer is.



I read a post about a day or so ago that the TDR member had a local transmission shop do the install with approval from DTT.



I did not think of that when I got mine done and drove quite a ways to get to the installers shop.

ATS uses a really amazing clutch material made by Raybestos. MUCH better than stock.



I am familiar with the stock lining, which will burn, degrade, peel, bubble, crumble etc. under high H. P. & Torque. The ATS Raybestos linings will NOT burn, I tried to light one up with a lighter when I was at ATS getting my trans done! They won't peel or degrade either. This is another reason why I say that ATS does the most thorough job of engineering of any of the Performance Trans builders.
