hi, anyone have part#'s for cooler lines on 96 47re, one of plastic quick disconnects is leaking and thought i would replace them unless someone has a better way???? :)

After I had my transmission "flushed", the quick disconnects up front near the cooler were leaking. To my knowledge, there was no way to tighted them so I cut them out and replaced them with a tubing compression fitting x barbed hose end and hose clamp. Pretty sure it was 1/2" tubing. Only cost about $20 and is holding fine.

i think dodge has new inverted flare cooler lines and fittings for these trucks. they had alot of problems with the quick connect lines not staying connected. if the inverted flare lines are not avialable for your truck, try to get the revised steel quick connect fittings. the steel quick connect fittings work ok. the plastic quick connect fittings are just asking for trouble. with your vin a good dodge dealer should be able to find out what will fit your truck.

The new lines are available. That is what I have. Don't know why they didn't just do it right the first, and go with the flared fittings.
