Auto trans, drip...

I just found a drip of trans fluid on the bottom the bellhousing. Auto trans is over filled 5/8 on the dipstick/cold. If I empty the over filled amount, will the drip stop? Or have I already ruined the seal? Thanks to all with experience.

Best to try it and find out. Maybe caused from fluid backing up into the dip stick tube.

Overfilled cold? How overfilled is it when hot? You won't have hurt the seal, but running it overfilled can cause foaming which can damage all sorts of other internal parts.

The Breather is inside the bellhousing, so yes to much oil will find the way out that way.
