Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Auto trans trouble

The last couple of days the transmission gets to about 53 mph and sometimes just wont go. I acts like you have the parking brake on a little bit. It wont kick down or anything. If I let off then gas it it will usually then kick down. It almost seems like it is between gears. Any help is appreciated!!!

I don't have an answer but I am not really sure what you are asking. It will not downshift? and you can't go any faster?

It will shift through the gears fine up to about 53mph. Then, once at that speed it will sometimes hang there. It wont shift down, or shift up, even if I give it more throttle. It will stay at 53 or so even if I put the accelerator to the floor, and will not downshift. When that happens i will push the o/d button once or twice, and then it will shift. Sorry about the long post.

With the added info I would guess it is the governor pressure sensor. If still under warranty it should be a no-brainer for the dealer.....
