When I got home with my new truck, about 400 miles on the odometer, I was crawling around under it and saw the auto trans vent tube was attached to the trans but the open end was just hanging over the exhast pipe!

It wasn't melted at all, but I can't figure out where the end is supposed to attach. The tube isn't long enough to get up the shock tower like the front diff vent is located. Looked in the service manual but didn't find that detail.

Anybody happen to know where to attach it?

It attaches to a plastic clip at the top of the bell housing. Its attached by the top bolt directly across from the turbo downpipe.

Thanks.

I don't see where to put it around there. I have a plastic clip with a plastic rivet / stud on the end of the hose. But there isn't a hole to stick that rivet into around that area of the bell housing, except a bolt hole in the engine bloc, but the hose isn't long enough to reach that.

I wonder if there might be a bracket missing? There isn't anything attached to that top passenger side bell housing bolt.
