On the 47RH equipped second gens, the computer's method of applying OD or TC lockup is to apply ground to each of the return wires that run from the transmission to the PCM. You can do the same thing with toggle switches.

is there a way to hard wire the o/d and lockup to switches to bypass the

puter .

Which truck is this for? This is the 94-98 forum and your signature shows your truck of this year to be a 5-speed.

I'm wondering the same thing for me, too. But, how do I know which auto transmission I have? It's a 96 with a "Standard Duty" automatic transmission according to the codes under the hood.

then it is a 47RE :D

Thanks! Now I can go somewhere read about how bad it is, I suppose...

I just had it "motovac'd" where they replace all the transmission fluid with a complete flush. They told me it looked good. My next step is to drop the pan and check it out down there. Are there any affordable upgrades while the pan is off?

vavle body is a nice upgrade and not to hard give HTS a call.

Plus with his valve body you can use a switch to lock and on lock convertor with out buying a torque locker switch, but remember to shut the switch off when you go to stop.
