On my 96 auto transmission there are two adjustments that I do, one on the outside and one where you have to pull the pan. I am sure its been covered before but what does each of the adjustments do?

Thanks Ron

They are front and rear band adjustments.....

Ron,

Unless there is something strange going on, you don't need to adjust the bands. They are very thin so the adjustment is not really for wear. It's a shift timing adjustment so if your shifts are ok it's best to leave the bands along. You can increase the line pressure, but you have to take the pan off to do that.
