Archived Auto transmission - bind-up, then no O/D or TC lockup

Cruising around today, doing about 75MPH, then let off the throttle while coasting down a hill... part way down the hill, my transmission locks up (as in chirps the rear tires ), then drops to 3rd gear, no TC lockup, and been there ever since. I was 20 miles from nowhere, so I had to limp it to the nearest town.



So far, here is what I found:



Truck feels like it's dragging when taking off. . like it's in 2 gears

transmission is full of fluid, fluid is clean and smells ok.

Got a code P0753 -- 3 / 4 shift solenoid / Relay circuit

Truck currently has NO O/D or TCC lockup

Can press O/D off button, but no RPM change, no lockup. 3000 RPMs @ 60MPH



So, where is the 3/4 shift relay? Solenoid? Could this cause it to hang in two gears at once? I need help guys... I'm stuck.

The solenoid is in the pan, You need to check the wire harness first. Check the outside connector, left side of trans just above the pan flange, if thats good than drop the trans pan and pull the vavle body the solenoid is held on with 3 screws? maybe 4?. solenoid costs about $15 at napa or 32 at dealer(two years ago).

Takes about an hour to swap out. Just messy. Sometimes just the wires short out against the side of the valve body like after fluid change, sometimes just as the O/D unit is about to blow chunks. I've had both.

i had the same problem and posted a 911 on the 14th. i replaced the 3/4 solenoid and tranducer. and i still have the same problem. any advise?
